Re: Repair Work to the slope behind Midvale Village
We are writing to update you on the latest development of the captioned subject.
As the weather has become more stable, ‘China State Civil Engineering Ltd’, a contractor engaged by Hong Kong Resort (HKR), would start the repair work of the slope (where landslide took place earlier) on 21st July 2008 (Monday). Subject to the weather condition, it is anticipated that the work would be completed in 2 months. It would include the following:
1. To remove all loose landslide debris and eroded materials off-site.
2. To provide shotcrete to cover up the exposed “in-site” soil to prevent further soil deterioration.
Upon the completion of the repair work, an independent geotechnical consultant ‘Atkins China Ltd’ engaged by HKR, will assess the slope with a view to certifying whether the work has been completed to its satisfaction.
While workers are not required to gain access to the Village during the repair work, transportation of mud and debris etc will be required from the end of Middle Lane, adjacent to Clear View. We will closely monitor the debris removal exercise to minimize any possible inconvenience caused.
Please feel free to contact our Mr Steve Kwok at 2987-9659 or the undersigned at 2238-3626 should you have any queries on the subject.
Thank you for your kind attention.
