Re.: Be Vigilant and Prevent Influenza
It has come to all our attention that there is a widespread of common flu recently in Hong Kong. The Department of Health (DH) and the Hospital Authority (HA) are closely monitoring the situation of the influenza at the moment. Residents are advised to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene and to take the following precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease: -

  1. Build up good body immunity by having a proper diet, regular exercise and adequate rest, reducing stress and avoiding smoking;
  2. Maintain good personal hygiene, and wash hands after sneezing, coughing and wear a mask when developing symptoms of respiratory infections;
  3. Maintain good ventilation;
  4. Avoid visiting crowded places with poor ventilation.
  5. Avoid coming into contact with birds, poultry or their droppings.

Residents particularly children, elderly and those with chronic diseases, should wear face masks and consult their doctors for medical advice promptly if they develop symptoms of respiratory tract infection.

City Management has also strengthened the cleaning process such as the disinfection of handrails, door handles, lift buttons, etc...

Apart from the stepped-up cleaning process to the common areas, residents may call the village's LMO if you need the disinfection service to your premises.

For more information on the disease, residents may visit the website of the Centre for Health Protection from the DH at http://www.chp.gov.hk.

Thank you for your kind attention and co-operation!
